Accelerated Master's Program
Earn Your Engineering Master's Degree Faster at 精东影视 State
One path. Two degrees. A faster finish.
The Accelerated Master鈥檚 Platform (AMP) provides high-achieving 精东影视 State engineering undergraduates a streamlined path to a master鈥檚 degree.
Take graduate-level courses early at undergraduate tuition rates to save time and money while building the advanced skills you need for the next stage of your career.
With AMP, you could achieve both a bachelor鈥檚 and a master鈥檚 degree in as little as five years.
The Benefits
Save Time
Start graduate coursework during your undergraduate program and complete your master鈥檚 degree sooner, often in as little as one additional year.
Save Money
Pay undergraduate tuition rates for graduate-level courses.
(this excludes Ecampus courses, which are charged graduate Ecampus tuition rates)
Maximize your credits
Apply up to 22 credits of graduate coursework toward both your undergraduate and graduate degrees, saving even more time and money.
Build career-ready skills
Transfer up to 22 credits of 500-600 level coursework that count towards both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Streamline your transition
Once admitted to AMP, you move directly into your graduate program after finishing your bachelor鈥檚 degree.
How AMP works
Apply to AMP
You can apply to the Accelerated Master鈥檚 Platform once you have completed 105 credits* and have at least a 3.25 GPA. A good time to think about applying is when you鈥檙e taking 300-level courses. Students pursuing an M.S. degree also need approval from a research professor.
Take graduate-level coursework
Once you are admitted, you can take up to 22 credits of 500鈥600 level classes that count toward both your undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Finish your bachelor鈥檚 degree
Your AMP admission automatically rolls into your master鈥檚 program.

Many students finish in one additional year!
Choose your degree path
With the Accelerated Master's Platform, you can choose to pursue either a Master of Engineering (MEng) or a Master of Science (M.S.) degree, depending on your goals. Both degree pathways are self-funded, and each offers a strong foundation for career advancement in your chosen engineering field.
Master of Engineering programs
MEng is ideal for students seeking a coursework-focused, industry-oriented master鈥檚 that can typically be completed in one additional year. The Master of Health Physics (MHP) functions similarly to this.
Master of Science programs
The M.S. is well-suited- for students who are excited about research, innovation, and scientific discovery, and who want to work closely with a faculty advisor on a thesis project, usually over one or more years.
M.S. students often continue work they began in an undergraduate research lab, while those new to research must first secure a faculty member willing to serve as their major advisor.

I鈥檓 ready! Let鈥檚 get started.

First:
- Complete 105 credits towards the 180 credits required for your bachelor's degree.*
- Have a minimum 3.25 grade point average for completed OSU undergraduate coursework. Transfer GPA will not be considered.
- If you plan to complete an M.S. degree, obtain prior approval from a research professor. They鈥檒l need to sign a Faculty Advisor Agreement.
Then:
- Schedule an appointment with your degree program鈥檚 AMP advisor to ensure you鈥檙e ready for AMP admission and plan courses. See below for AMP advisor contacts.
- Your AMP advisor will notify Graduate Admissions of your eligibility.
- Graduate Admissions will email asking you to approve the addition of the 鈥淎MP鈥 notation on your academic record. Respond within 48 hours to approve, which confirms your admission to the AMP program.
- In your final term before completing your bachelor's degree, contact your advisor to receive the application for admission to the graduate program you plan to start in the subsequent term.
- will need a proper visa/I-20 once their graduate program starts.
