Hello! My name is Emma, I’m the graduate chair for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and I’m a member of TRIO.
While at OSU, I had a study abroad experience in Seville, Spain, and have benefited from being part of programs like DAM legends and STEM Leaders.
I’ve been a research assistant in two labs at OSU, and I recently returned from a research internship at the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Health and Science University where I developed a 3D tumor model of breast cancer. I’m also part of the MECOP program, and I look forward to gaining experience in the engineering field prior to graduation.
The best piece of advice I have is to remember that it’s a privilege to be here. You will have access to amazing people and opportunities. Remember that to have a village you must be a villager, and support the people around you. Join a club, do research, and take advantage of the many resources you have on campus. Go do the thing.
Also, apply for financial aid.
