Event Description

Abstract:

Building advanced higher order circuits doesn’t require complex tools using multi-variable calculus, nor does it need 10,000 hours of human-intelligence training. With the right level of abstraction and practical observation, a complex state-of-the-art circuit design problem can be solved using fewer variables.

This talk demonstrates how one can simplify the design of an Nth-order Delta-Sigma Modulator using a couple of variables and simple math.

Bio:

Praveen Venkatachala is a Principal Engineer at Skyworks Solutions Inc. at Hillsboro, ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ. He received a Ph.D. from ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓin 2019 and a M. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2011. He aims to educate and enable young engineers to solve hard practical problems by applying the concept of abstraction and by using simple math.

His research interests involve breaking down complex problems and new circuits into well-established fundamental concepts. Over the last 11 years he has applied this approach to the state of the art Ring Amplifiers, Class D Audio Amplifiers, Analog and Digital filter design and Data Converters resulting in 20+ publications and patents.

The target audience is faculty & grad students.
