Robert Bonney attended ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Agricultural College on a baseball scholarship and continued to play in ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ’s only semi-pro baseball league for many years. Upon graduating with a degree in civil engineering from OSU, Bonney founded a partnership in Portland called Moffatt, Nichol and Bonney, Inc. In 2006, the office became part of TranSystems. Bonney acts as principal at TranSystems and provides the office with over forty years of management experience. The firm provides full design services in the areas of planning, architecture, and civil and structural engineering. They also provide prime design for a variety of projects, including industrial buildings, commercial buildings, auto processing facilities, seismic retrofit, investigations, aviation related structures, site development and planning, and related civil engineering work. Bonney a past ASCE president from 1955-1956 of the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Section and now fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, was awarded in 1991 ASCE’s ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Outstanding Civil Engineer Award. Bonney is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ.
