Biography

After graduation, Norm McKibben joined Peter Kiewit Sons’, Inc. and served as area manager out of Walla Walla, Washington for many years. He went on to become district manager out of Salt Lake City, Utah, and established Gilbert Pacific Corporation, a nonunion subsidiary of Peter Kiewit Sons', Inc. From Salt Lake City, McKibben helped organize the company's mining contracts that developed in Texas and other areas. He was active in Washington's AGC program, and after retiring from the company in 1985, he was given a special volunteer appointment with the Washington State Department of Transportation, an appointment that was made by the governor but also recommended by his peers. He is now involved in the wine industry in Walla Walla, where he is a partner in Pepper Bridge Vineyard. He serves on the board of the OSU Honors College and is a strong supporter of OSU’s Viticulture and Enology Program.
