Biography

Michael Brady received his bachelor's in chemical engineering from Iowa State University. He earned his doctorate in chemical engineering from OSU in 1968. He was a National Science Foundation Fellow and worked closely with professor Charlie Wicks. For 30 years Brady worked at 3M and Imation, a 3M spin-off company. While at Imation, Brady developed a pre-coated, pigmented photopolymer film for manufacturing color filters for LCD displays. Four years ago, Brady joined Coming, Inc. in Corning, New York where he is currently manager of Process Development, Advanced Engineering. At Corning, Brady developed processes in thin film solid state devices, photonic optical switches, and advanced optical materials. In 1999, Brady returned to OSU to present a session as part of a seminar entitled Color Products for the Printing Industry. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Chemical Society, and the International Society of Coating Science and Technology.
