BSCE 1949 - CCE"Kaz" Kawata is an internationally recognized expert in environmental engineering and environmental health, a professional engineer, educator and advisor to governments and international organizations. He is a Retired Missionary of the United Methodist Church and Professor Emeritus of Environmental Health Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University. His association with the church began during his internment in a relocation camp in Idaho at the beginning of World War II. It was with the church' s Board of Global Ministries that he served in India and Pakistan. Since his retirement from active teaching, he has continued his professional and humanitarian activities, including more than ten visits to the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Dr. Kaz Kawata is truly a "citizen of the world."
