Biography

After graduating with his master’s and PhD in mechanical engineering from ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ State University, Junku Yuh was a professor at the University of Hawaii and then joined the National Science Foundation (NSF), where he served as director of the Tokyo Regional Office. In 2006, he became the fifth president of Korea Aerospace University. Yuh gained extensive experience in science, engineering, technology programs and policy matters through his work in the U.S. and Japan, and has played a critical role in helping to bridge the research and education communities of the U.S. and East Asia and Pacific region.

Yuh is an IEEE Fellow and recipient of several awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from World Automation Congress and an NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award. He has published over 120 technical articles and has edited/co-edited ten books in the area of robotics. Yuh was previously elected to the College of Engineering’s Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers.
