Biography
CCE Second Dean Dr. Rogers was appointed Professor of Hydraulic Engineering at ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ State in 1920 and became Dean in 1927. He served as Dean until 1933 when he resigned to become president of the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, a position he held for 24 years.
He was active in professional societies throughout his career, particularly the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Education, later the American Society for Engineering Education. He was president in 1945 and 1946. Dr. Rogers led the Polytechnic through the 1930s into a period of prosperity. The principal building at Polytechnic is called Rogers Hall.
