Biography

After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at OSU, Darald Callahan began his career as a research engineer at Chevron Research Company in Richmond, California. He was elected president of Chevron Oil Bahamas Limited in 1980. After holding management positions, he was named general manager of Marketing Operations and within two years was elected president of Warren Petroleum Company. He became senior vice president of Chevron Chemical Company in 1991 and president in 1999. He was named the executive vice president of Power, Chemicals and Technology for Chevron Texaco Corp. in 2001, and oversaw several technical aspects of the company, as well as the Chevron Phillips C. joint venture, Chevron Texaco’s interest in Dynegy, and the Sasol Chevron joint venture. Callahan has served as chair of the OSU Environmental Engineering Advisory Board and as a member of the OSU Foundation Board of Trustees. He was previously elected to the College of Engineering’s Academy of Distinguished Engineers in 1999.
