Biography

(BSCEM, 1982) - CCEDan Kavanaugh received a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering management from OSU. After graduation, he joined Turner Construction Company on the Chevron Park Project, an eleven building complex in San Ramon California. Kavanaugh remained on the project and was promoted to senior cost engineer and scheduling engineer and transferred to San Francisco, and subsequently Seattle, where he served as a project engineer for the Two Union Square project, a 56-story high-rise office building. His next project involved creating Seattle SPD, which resulted in his promotion to SPD Division Manager. After a six year hiatus from Turner, Kavanaugh returned as the regional manager with their Portland operations. Shortly after, he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Portland Business Unit. In 2006, the company ranked third in metro area billings, and its recent projects include Providence Cancer Center and the Salem Hospital Campus Expansion. Kavanaugh helped coach and mentor teams for the Associated Schools of Construction regional competition in Nevada last year.
