Biography

Curt Nilsen received his BS in 1987 from OSU and his MS in 1989 from University of California at Davis. Since 1989 he has made significant contributions to national security, related to nuclear materials, in his career with Sandia National Labs in Livermore, California. He began his experience with Sandia as a systems engineer and embedded software engineer and progressed through nuclear explosive tester designs to analysis of unconventional nuclear threats and sea-launch missiles. He has more recently worked to analyze potential nuclear terrorism threats and has led teams monitoring nuclear materials. He is currently involved in nuclear materials control, accountability, and monitoring in Sarov, Russia.
