Biography

During World War II, Carroll Page was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, and was responsible for a 2,200 vehicle motor pool with 22 officers reporting to him. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ State University, he started his career with Longview Fiber Paper and Packaging, where he oversaw the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Seattle, WA. In the 1960s, Page transferred to Precision Castparts Corporation as a superintendent. Page -- with Ed Cooley and Ken Pierce -- purchased the company from John Gray, and Page took PCC public in 1968. Wanting to improve the company's manufacturing efficiency, he developed and implemented a time and motion plan that was critical to the company's early success. Under their leadership, the company grew from 45 employees to more than 2,000 by the time that Page took an early retirement. Since leaving PCC, Page has been an independent financial investor.
