Eric Hanyu Wang, a doctoral student in electrical and computer engineering at ����Ӱ�� State University, is one of just 10 students from across the nation to receive a from the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. The grant was awarded in recognition of Wang’s performance and the significance of his research.

Under the guidance of professors Gabor Temes and Un-Ku Moon, Wang’s research on analog-to-digital converters for integrated circuit designs could be implemented in emerging applications such as high resolution image sensors, low-latency robotic control systems, and next-generation implantable brain-machine interfaces.

“Getting this award is truly an honor and is great recognition of the significance of our research,” Wang said. “This award also provides precious funding for me to stay focused on my research.”

Wang earned an undergraduate degree from Hefei University of Technology in China in 2016 and a master’s degree from University of Macau in Macao in 2020.

“I came to ����Ӱ�� State because the university has great prestige, especially in the field of analog and mixed signal circuit design,” Wang said. “Professors in this department are world-famous.”

“Eric combines creativity with curiosity and strong motivation,” Temes said. “It is a winning combination, and we expect he’ll have a great career.”
